They've all been fine and that has been my backup strategy for several years now. CCC also has the ability to clone Apples recovery partition which Super Duper does not do last I checked. I also keep two portable, bus-powered hard drives for clones (one CCC the other SuperDuper - one offsite, and one kept in home firesafe). CCC 5 is fairly similar to version 4, it has more features than super duper and does work with APFS drives.
